Grapes and Strawberries on Sale

Yesterday, a friend said she saw 2lb red grapes at Target for $2. Use the $1 off Produce (Target PRINT) to get them for only $1!



A few days ago I was at Wal-Mart and bought 1-lb strawberries for only $1.78. I really wanted some green grapes to price-match because Winn-Dixie has them for $0.88/lb through Tuesday.

CVS- Dove Chocolates Only $0.50!

Yup! You heard right, that bag of wonderful Dove chocolate was only $0.50! These are on sale this week for $2.50 and I got a coupon for $2 off from the price scanner. Sweet! Make sure you check your card (and your hubby's and neighbors') because I also got $1 off Dove plus B1G1 FREE Godiva Gems (up to $4.99).

Here's a helpful tip: When they ask if you want to donate to some charity they're showcasing, use you ECBs to donate! I had to use up some ECBs but instead of pricing them down*, I asked if a portion could be used to donate and they said YES. Thanks to my smart cashier who figured it all out for me! I ended up paying nothing but tax and got $5 ECBs plus $1 from my green tag. Already, that donation came back to me. You really can't outgive God!

*(If you are paying with ECBs and they are more than your total before tax but you can't find a cheap filler item, the cashier can decrease your ECB amount, meaning price it down. So you will lose the value of your coupon but if it's less than $0.50, I usually don't worry about it.)

Publix 90% Savings!

This morning, I went to Publix to get the deals this week. I paid $18.84 and saved $114.37. That's 86% savings. Wow! It's been a while since Publix blew my socks off. I came away a happy camper. Hope you can catch all these savings too!

Of course, I used I Heart Publix for the coupon match-ups. But beware, our Pensacola prices are a little higher on some products:

Super Shopping, CVS & Target 5/5/10

I stopped by CVS this morning to get the other deals this week. Here's a short video of that for you!



At CVS, I spent $0 and got $9 ECBs!

At Target, I found block Kraft cheese for $1.06 and shredded for $1.99 (only $0.99 each using the $2/2 Kraft shredded cheese blinkie). I bought 8 blocks and 6 shredded for $14.42 and now I am stocked for a long, long, time.

These were the flavors on sale:
Block cheese: mozzarella and cheddar & monterey jack
Shredded cheese: authentic mexican and triple cheddar

CVS Super Shopping May 1, 2010

I ran into a good friend of mine at CVS today, so we got to do a little shopping together. We even took turns at the price scanner scanning our CVS cards for coupons. It's like hanging out by the water cooler! Alas, no great coupons printed. We did get a couple of rain checks for Irish Spring and Softsoap bodywash. Both have $1 off Q in the Reinventing Beauty Magazine. I also tried to make the DVD in the Kodak Picture Maker but the machine malfunctioned so I got a rain check for that BOGO deal. My BOGO coupon should give me 2 FREE DVDs, perfect for Mother's Day.

My CVS still has Easter clearance for 90% off! For next year's stash, I got stickers and pencils for $0.05 each (24 items total). Plus there was a Care Bears toothbrush for $0.50 that sings "I've Got Sunshine" and a WallE toothbrush for $0.35 for my kids. Because of overage from the Depends (yes I bought it for the $2 overage) I was able to get all the clearance items for $0.55! Yay! There are still Easter baskets and even big rabbit chocolate left for the taking.

I am enjoying shopping Saturday evenings because I can do two weeks worth of deals at once. They have the deals starting Sunday already posted plus, all the sales that end Saturday are still in effect. Since this week's not that exciting for deals, I'll just stop by sometime to redeem the DVD raincheck and maybe succumb to buying any 90% Easter clearance left.

Super Shopping Recap for the Week

Life is full of surprises. Like when I uploaded these pictures I was sure they would get all jumbled up and here they are just in the order I wanted them to be. Sometimes, I sure wish ALL of life is like that.

This post is linked to IHP, MSM, TTM, CSG, FF & TFF. Cryptic, I know. Seeing how other people saved sometimes brings attention to deals I've overlooked. I hope you too will be encouraged!

Sunday and Weds were my shopping days, plus a small trip Thursday. I missed out on Walgreens again this week, but we have shaving cream out the wazoo, so it's ok.

Here is the store breakdown of what I spent:

$7.22 at CVS not $39, saving 82%, plus got $10 ECBs!
$46 at Target not $95, saving 52%, plus got $10 GCs
$5.88 at Winn-Dixie & Wal-Mart not $13, saving 69%
$26 at Publix not $139, saving $82%
Total spent this week: $84, with $10 GC + $10 ECBs

It's higher than I hoped to have but considering we stocked up on toilet paper, pasta, popcorn, bathroom cleaner, it's pretty good. The Target Gift Cards also paid for our long distance phone card which I'm not including the grocery total.

Here are some highlights of my Weds shopping:

I ran in to Target to get more onions, $1.49 each and vinegar, $0.18 each after $0.50 Q and brown rice, $0.72, that's pretty cheap!

At another trip, I used $1 Special K crackers & granola cereal Qs to get these for $5.35. I got a $5 GC. Using this with another $5 GC from Sunday's Target trip, hubs bought a 600 minute ATT phone card for only $5. So that's only 1 penny per minute!

Publix has Campbell's soups for $1. BUT Wal-Mart has cream of chicken and mushroom for $0.72, so only $0.22 each after the $1/2 Campbell's Q. I got a gallon of milk too and paid $3.86 total.

My big Publix trip below was only $7.46, although I got quite harassed by my use of coupons and buying too much pasta. Apparently, the Publix ad often states "Quantity rights reserved" for certain BOGO items. I found out that the store I visited has a limit of 4, so with BOGO, you get 8 items max.

I wish they would let people know what their store limit is on the shelf tag instead of telling you at checkout, because it is quite embarrassing when the cashier yells out, "Isn't there a limit for this spaghetti." What if I was throwing a Pasta Party?I called later and spoke to the store manager, not realizing how upset I really was. Or maybe it's PMS. He assured me that the dignity of the customer is very important to him and he was sorry that I was embarrassed and will speak with the cashier. I also reminded him that this was the only Publix I frequent and I do spend a lot of money (before coupons!) at his store.

My husband "encouraged" me to voice a complaint. I think he knew that this would bubble up inside of me later if I just blew it off now. Of course, the cashier was doing her best to abide by the rules and do her job. I'm reminded of this proverb:

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Proverbs 15:1

In the midst of "doing our job" we all have at one time made the mistake of saying harsh words, however unintentionally. Better if she informed me discreetly of company policy. I could have reacted the same, given the ear of her store manager. But his gentle answer did help me feel vindicated. Life lessons at the checkout lane... I love it!

CVS Super Shopping April 11

UPDATE: Just got my Charmin tonight. And found Reinventing Beauty coupons by the registers! Grab them by the before they run out.

*Check out this video we made this morning at CVS! It's amateur and dorky, I know! At the end it cut off. All I was trying to say was that you can use 2 coupons for a BOGO deal. As time permits (aka when my kids are behaving and I am not feeling lazy), I'll have more videos like this for you. This is especially for my friends who are visual learners.

Yes, I'm a toilet paper snob! I have been addicted to Charmin since my college days. But to my defense, we have used up our FREE Marcal toilet paper until a few days ago when that ran out. God be with us, Charmin was finally on sale! Both at CVS & Winn-Dixie (through Tuesday, get $5off wyb $20 PG). We treat Charmin like gold at our house. Even our 5 year old knows the 3-square rule!

I spent $30 & got $5 Gift Card for everything. Last time they had the Special K Fruit Crisps $5 GC promo, our store ran out & didn't restock in time. So I still had my coupons and was finally able to use them today. Patience and perseverance, ladies!

Last week, we tried to make a short video at Target. We couldn't figure out how to upload it onto YouTube. Then I checked today to find it magically fixed! Here is my first vlog! Of course, now, these deals are mostly gone but better at 90% for Easter, 75% for candy. Even the Heinz 57 is now only $0.68, minus $0.50 Q will only be $0.18!

This afternoon, amidst the rush hour traffic, we braved Publix, more so because I was dying to find out if Chocolate Cheerios was part of the BOGO deal! YES they are! Since I tried them at a friend's house, I knew that this would soon be my favorite cereal. I snagged six boxes since they were only $0.50 each after Qs. Some (maybe one) will be donated and there is plenty more at the store.

The total was $114.76 before sales & coupons. BUT I only forked over $26.45, saving 77%, Yay!

We splurged on the cream cheese ($3 for 3 and no coupons!) and I was stocking up on the sweet potatoes and asparagus. (They're headedto the freezer). You can't beat the price on the cheese, and I might get more later. They put a new $2/2 blinkie so there's plenty of coupons to go around. I'll post pictures later, I just wanted to make sure to give you all a head's up. These deals are outstanding, so stock-up!

Super Shopping: Lots of Freebies!

My total for the week (from March 6-13) is $57. Double what I have been spending for the past few weeks. But I will get $5 back for a Rebate and also got $17 RRs! So only $35 after the Rebate and ECBs.

Since I've been paying cash for food purchases, I find myself spending less. My husband thinks it's because it hurts more to give them my dollars and cents knowing I'm not getting it back. He is so right!

I also went to Publix on Thursday but we put all the items away before I could get a picture! My total for that was $8.34 (saved $49.24 or 85%).


On Tuesday, our Publix shopping totaled $20.50 for everything above. We saved $75.50, or 73%

This was my Target trip Saturday. Everything cost $10.47

The next morning, I stopped by Target again for some staples (Blue Bell Ice Cream for $2.88!) and paid $10.12 for everything. The 30-pack oatmeal was on clearance for $3.48 and I had a $1 Q!

I wanted to share this neat find: Tazo Organic Apple Tea is only $1.78 but some boxes had $1.50 off 2 Qs. It also had a Q that will let you get a Grande (I think) Tazo Tea at Starbucks for only $1.50. My friend and I went shopping together and hunted and hunted for extra peelies. Luckily we found one for each of us!

These are the items I got at Target for FREE plus overage.

On Sunday, I stopped by Wal-Mart and bought these for $9. I asked for extra inserts at Customer Service and they gave me 2!
We saved $8.40 on gas using 4 coupons ($2 off $10 Murphy USA) at the Wal-Mart gas station. Instead of $41.40, we filled up the tank for $33!

At Food World, the paper towels and rice are FREE. I used the FREE Marcal Q from 3.7 SS and Redplum had $0.50 Qs for rice that they doubled, to make the rice free (use zip 90210). Soft Scrub is FREE at Publix this week using Target Q and manuf Q. Use the links at Totally Target to get the Qs.

This Sunday I got these at CVS and paid $0 because I used ECBs, coupons and a CVS money card. BUT, the toothbrushes I picked up were NOT the right ones. So I had to go back and fix it.

I came back, got the right toothbrushes. All these for FREE + $1.50 moneymaker!

I've been shopping as little as possible over these past couple of weeks. This week, I couldn't remember when I went shopping. It was last Sunday! My total for the week was only $28. I'll shop again by Tuesday to ake advantage of grocery deals before they end. I'll get the 2 FREE things at CVS on Sunday too.

Deals are great when the food you get is edible. I must have pulled out 20 items past the sell by date. It just saddens my heart to see all that wasted Kashi All Natural food! Be sure to check the boxes for the best by date to avoid the hassle. Also, there may still be a few $3 off 2 peelies on these TLC boxes, but you have to really dig around to find them. However, Kerry found out that Kashi Heart to Heart Crackers are included in this deal. There are LOTS of printables for those at her blog, Totally Target. I also got coupons in the mail good for cereal or crackers, including a FREE coupon I used to get the cereal today.

Super Shopping at Winn-Dixie 2.28.10

At Winn-Dixie, my total was $14.70 but I paid $1.20 for a savings of 92%!

Here is an awesome clearance deal at Winn-Dixie. Our store had Covergirl Face items for $2.74 on clearance. If you still have the BOGO Q and $2.50 from PG 2/7 then you can do this deal. Winn-Dixie will put the original retail price on the BOGO coupon for $5.49 because that is how much they will charge the manufacturer. Not $2.74, which is an in-store Winn-Dixie price. So that’s $2.75 overage! I used mine to go towards milk= only $1.20 for milk, and 2 FREE Covergirl!

I hope that makes sense. I had to do a double take with my receipt. But whenever Winn-Dixie has a clearance, the store is eating the discounted cost. So when I used a BOGO or FREE coupon, they don’t need to write in their store discounted cost. They can charge the manufacturer the original price and get paid for it. The store makes money because they are not eating that discounted price. And you make money too because of the overage! Yippeee!

A dear friend snagged Earthgrain coupons at the Commissary for me: Save $1 off produce when you buy Earthgrains. I stacked this coupon with the $0.55 off Earthgrains PRINT Q. So, not only only did I get the lettuce FREE and the apples for $0.11, but the bread is even cheaper at $1.95 a loaf. Not bad for all natural bread and it tastes great! It really helps to advertise to friends and family that you coupon. Maybe more of them will give me their extra coupons!

The total was $70 but I paid $5.25 for a savings of 92.5% !!! Rite Aid has $5 off $25 so I wanted to shop at Orange Beach to use this coupon. But the tax was $4.12 because of the tax on all the coupons I used , so the Rite Aid coupon pretty much went to that! I don’t feel too badly, though, because I never knew how many more different items they have at this Publix than the ones in Pensacola.

I was having a hard time without my calculator to come up with $20 worth of items. So I asked the lady at Customer Service to ring up the items for me to see if I had $20 and I did. Later I realized that the total was only $18.70 and the rest was tax. I forgot they had tax in AL. So you can do this same exact scenario, just buy $1.30 more to bring up your total to $20. I am thinking of exchanging one of the bread crumbs for the Panko style to make up the difference.
