Two FREE Redbox Rentals wyb 2 Dozen Eggs

Last year, Target had eggs for $0.51 per dozen. This year, as with gas prices, egg prices haven't been less than $1 a dozen. The best deal I've seen is at Walgreens:

Buy 2 dozen eggs at $1.29 each
Get 2 FREE Redbox codes at checkout

Some of our area Walgreens now have a Redbox koisk. Use promocode DVDATWAG for one FREE DVD rental!

Also, purchase Stacy's Pita, Lay's Chips, or Tostitos for $2.50 and get another Redbox code at checkout. If you are getting these for this weekend's Easter dinner, might as well get some free DVD rentals too.

If you haven't used these, promocodes BREAKROOM and DVDONME are still good. You can use them once per credit card used.

FREE Movie Ticket wyb DVDs

CVS sells DVDs (by the registers and photo center at my store). I found a few that had a peelie for $10 Movie e-Cash for the new movie, "Despicable Me". As long as you don't live in California or New York, that should pay for your movie, at least a matinee! Don't forget to use you ECBs to pay towards the DVD purchase ($11.99). This week, CVS has lots of money makers and even milk is going to generate $1 ECB. So, you might get the DVD free with all your overage!

Restaurant.com $25 GC for only $2!

I love Restaurant.com. It's the key to our budget-friendly date night! Right now they have 80% off on the $25 gift certificates. Plus you'll get a $15 credit on flowers from FTD. It's time to stock-up! Just enter the code:HEART during checkout.

Remember: you can only use one per restaurant per month. So if you are planning to give them to friends, let them know that ahead of time (especially if you are going to the same restaurant). Or just give them GCs for a different restaurant!

There is usually a minimum higher than the value of the GC (like $25 GC for $50 minimum purchase). And always tip on the value of the meal before the CG. You can also see the menus posted at Restaurants.com!

Here are local restaurants that honor these certificates:
Lester's (near the Wharf)
Nix at the Beach (Orange Beach)
Tacky-Jacks (Orange Beach)
Coach-n-Four Steakhouse (Pine Forest)
North Shore Grill & Deli
600 South at New World Inn (Downtown)
Madison's (East Hill)
Cobalt The Restaurant (across Carribe)

Mall Shopping for Clearance Finds!

Middle of January must be the time for major clearance for retailers. All the stores are having great sales! Even the mall is a good place to shop right now. Prudent Patron has assembled a cast of mall coupons. Thanks! I'm going to have to start saving up for January shopping next year.

I'm thinking of grabbing some clearance items at Bath & Body to get the FREE travel size items. I've heard from Hip2Save Comments that there are lots of 75-90% off!

Old Navy has lots of deals too. I was able to print a $10 off $50 and a 10% off purchase coupons by using 2 email addresses. If these were the super high value coupons like $50 off $100 then I wouldn't because those are really hard to get. Anyway, go to Old Navy Weekly and get the $10 Q by moving the blue shirt under the green one. Get the 10% off Q by placing the green headband to the girl with black hair on the right.

FREE Long Distance Call

Well, free call for 5 minutes anyway. It really works. Just don't accept any offers or enter contests. I can't attest to the validity of those.

Call 1-888-FREE-411.
Listen to a 10 second commercial. (Do not press *)
The main menu options will be listed. Say "FREE CALL".
Another infomercial then it will say, "Welcome to free call"
Dial 1-(area code)-number and you'll have 5 minutes to chat.
After that, I'm not sure what happens.

Apparently we aren't chatty enough on the phone. Our ATT cell phone always had hundreds of rollover minutes. So we ended our 3-years with the cellphone plan. At first we used the 12-cent long distance plan for the landline. Wow! It doesn't take much to to rack up $30 for calls. To keep disciplined we decided to look for calling cards. Well, I think the cellphone company ran them out of business. It's like looking for a working payphone, you can't find calling cards anymore. Luckily, we found an old one that still had 45 minutes on it!

Plus, Woman's Day had a short blurb about 1-888-FREE-411 in their Feb 2010 issue. We've used it to call family members. We simply say, "Hi Mom, can you call me back please?" since they have unlimited long distance or night minutes. It's working out great! My purse is lighter. My phone doesn't go off at church or in a meeting. The biggest perk: we talk to each other more in the car and on dates instead of answering the phone. That's just as great as the $840/year we'll save!

FREE Movie Ticket from GM Cereals!

We used up the last WIC check at Wal-Mart. No BOGO cereal because I completely forgot the check was expiring Nov 7 and had to just go to the nearest store that takes WIC. So we left WIC without fanfare. It was a great 6 years! Now we have to pay for cereal, cheese, milk. I'll really miss it. But, God is so good. I was down about picking out the last 3 FREE cereal boxes when I happened upon these Lucky Charms cereal. These were the same sizes as the others but with a special logo.
This is the first time I bought Lucky Charms, much to the excitement of my kids. Specially marked boxes of General Mills Cereal say FREE Movie Ticket. These boxes were $2.86 each at Wal-Mart. I had a $1 Q. For $4.86 we got a Movie Ticket and two cereals! The promo works! You have to buy 2 because you'll need to enter 2 codes to access the movie ticket. All codes are good through June 2010 but if you print it out, it must be used within 60 days.

Go here for more info. Above are the participating cereals. Just make sure the box has FREE Movie Ticket logo on it!

All You Grocery Challenge

All You is by far my favorite magazine. It's more like an investment. Every issue is full of coupons, sometimes up to $100 of savings! So, it always, at least, pays for itself. Now they have added another fun challenge that has really caught my eye:
the All You Grocery Challenge

The challenge is to spend $25 per family member per week.(So, $100/week for a family of 4) Sign-up by July 12 here. Just make this budget work for 4 weeks (Jul 13-August 9) and you could win a year's worth of Knorr Sides, a $1000 gift card, and a chance to appear in All You! According to Erin at Coupon Cravings, 4000 people have already signed-up so far. They have also set-up a blog for news and comments at All You Grocery Challenge.

I am so excited about this! I know we can definitely spend less than $25 a person. And check out the guidelines and tips from the Thrifty Mama. It's ok to use your stockpile and barter! This will be really fun. If nothing else, we'll be spending less and saving more. Are you up for the challenge? Let me know in the comment section so we can do this together! Watch out for upcoming posts where I'll share our progress.

$25 Gift Certificates for $2 at Restaurant.com

Restaurant.com is once again offering 80% off their gift certificates through June 25. The code is DISH. Be sure to click apply when you type it in. Otherwise it will not deduct the discount. I printed 4 for Rafters at the Wharf in Orange Beach. They don't have a minimum purchase, just buy 2 entrees at least. A friend gave us a $25 GC there last year for Christmas. It's like a nice neighborhood bar and restaurant. And Rave Theater is right behind it. So you can park the car and eat then walk to the movies!

Thanks Hip 2 Save for the tip! I missed this before because I waited too long to get them. Not this time. Please note, that these gift certificates (GC) do not work like the regular restaurant gift cards you may get for Christmas. Read these tips and the fine print first:

1. Your minimum purchase may be higher than your GC price.
(Rafter's doesn't, that's why I picked it.)
2. You can only use one per month per restaurant.
3. These are valid for 1 year.
4. It may or may not include alcoholic purchases. So ask first.
5. There is no cashback.
