CVS Shopping Plan 7/5

View the weekly ad from the CVS Website starting Sunday or I Heart CVS for the ad scan and coupon match-ups. Plus, don't forget that Extra Bucks earned from last quarter will start printing as of July 1st. Call 1-800-SHOP CVS (746-7287) to find how much you earned!

CVS is starting early with back-to-school bargains. I have $23 ECBs burning a hole in my wallet so we are definitely going to max out all the store limits on the FREE after ECB deals!

Here is my proposed shopping plan. (Should the items be out-of-stock, I'm glad they'll issue rainchecks. I didn't learn that until very recently.)

These are some deals I like:
1. Buy 1 CVS or Caliber pencil or sharpener for $0.99, get $0.99 ECB. Limit 3 (FREE after ECB)
2. Buy 1 CVS or Caliber tape for $1.49, get $1.49 ECB. Limit 3. Sunday and Monday only. (FREE after ECB)
3. Buy CVS Pantiliner for $0.89, get $0.89 ECB. Limit 1. (FREE after ECB)
4. Buy 2/$2 Dawn, get $1 ECB. No limit! (FREE after ECB and 2 -$0.50 Q from Home Made Simple booklet)
5. Buy $10 Febreze, get $5 ECB. Limit 5. (only $5 before coupons)
6. Buy 1 Colgate Total Toothpaste for $3.49, get $2. Limit 1. ($0.49 after ECB and $1 Q)

Here is what I will buy using what coupons: (#s correspond with above deals)
1. $2.97- Buy 1 pencil pack and 2 shapener.
2. $4.47- Buy 3 rolls of invisible tape.
3. $0.89- Buy pantyliner.
4. $1- Buy 2 Dawn. Use 2- $0.50 Q
5. $11.50- Febreze* see scenario
6. $2.49- Buy 1 Colgate Total. Use $1 Q

$23.32 Subtotal -$23 ECBs = $0.32 + Tax!
And get $21.33 ECBs!!!

*Febreze Scenario:
Buy 2 Air Effects, $3 each
Buy2 Refresher Spray, $5 each
Buy 1 Noticeables, $6.50
Use two Q: Buy Refresher get Air Effects FREE
Use two -$0.50 Q for Refresher
Use -$4 off 1 Q for Noticeables
Subtotal: Spend $22.50 - $11 Qs
= $11.50 OOP get $10 ECB
= $1.50 after ECB or $0.30 each!

I also have a coupon for a FREE Bayer's Breeze 2 Meter. In the CVS July Clipless Coupon Booklet, this meter is $19.99 get $5. So this is a $5 Money Maker! But the coupon says FREE "when you present your prescription". If they do not honor the coupon, since I don't have one, I will mail this coupon to my friend in Cali who can use it.

I am also planning an EBT purchase. I like shopping at Walgreens and CVS for my groceries because the prices are pretty competitive to Wal-Mart, when using coupons, of course. And since I'm using the EBT Card instead of my own cash, the ECBs and RRs I receive become FREE Money! Then I can buy toiletries and other non-food essentials with this. So I always try to have at least $10-$2o left over every month on the EBT card for these kinds of purchases.

If you or someone you know would like more info on how to maximize your EBT purchases, you can email me at frugalforyou.blogspot.com (Write EBT Card Question on the subject line.)

Here is what I plan to buy with the EBT card:
3 Honey Bunches of Oats (3 for $10, get $5 ECBs)
2 Hellmann's Mayo (2 for $6, get $2 ECBs)
Lipton Iced Tea ($5.99, get $2 ECBs)
-$0.75 Lipton Q (the only Q I have for this transaction!)
Total EBT: $21.24, Get $9 ECBs

FREE Samples from PG Brand Saver!

Only the PG coupon booklet will be in the newspaper this Sunday. I am personally buying at least two since $55 worth of coupons will be in this insert. And I am still praying God will send KMart Doubles to Pensacola! So it's a good $2 investment for us.

However, should you refrain from coupon-mania and buy only one paper, you may still possess PG coupons by requesting some from the PG Everyday Solutions website. Free samples and coupons with P&GbrandSAMPLER™ -click this link to register and choose your samples.

This are some of their offerings this month:
Free Samples of Prilosec, Head and Shoulders and Tampax

Walgreens Super Shopping

Last Sunday at Walgreens, I picked up some snacks. And used the Register Rewards (RRs) to get my hubby a magazine so thick, that if it was rolled up, it would instantly kill an army of insects. It was $7 but at least guaranteed I used up some RRs. Those darn things expire quickly and sometimes difficult to roll over from week to week.

Here is the breakdown of this transaction:

5 Capri Sun, $2 each
5 Chips Ahoy, $2 each
2 Listerine, $4.50 each
2x -$2 off 1 Listerine coupons
5x -$2 off wyb Capri Sun and Chips Ahoy
Total OOP: $15.68

Got $5RR for Capri Sun and Chips Ahoy (making each item $0.50!)
and $3RR for Listerine (making each $1!)

Second Transaction:
1 Magazine, $6.99
1 kid's toy, $0.99 (50% off summer toys!)
5 Seed Packets, $0.50
2x -$3RRs
-$2RR
Total OOP: $1.12
I bought the seeds because I needed filler items so my total would be at least $8 (it was $7.98) and at buy least 3 items since I had 3 RR coupons.

Coupon Preview for Sunday July 5

It's only Friday. But it's not too early to plan next week's shopping. There will be only 1 coupon insert- the P&G booklet. Still, it may be well worth it to buy a few copies, with $55 worth of coupons in the booklet. I see possibly 4 Pampers coupons, BIGIF Head and Shoulders, FREE Pantene Styler wyb Shampoo. Check out the coupon preview posted by Ginger at ATS. Also check out her cool website. Find all things Target and more.

Save-A-Lot Coupon $5 off $20

UPDATE: I tried to print the coupon but you need Internet Explorer 7 and I upgraded recently to 8. This has happened before. In my gut I knew I should have refused the update that Windows was pushing on me. So I'll have to print the coupon at the Library.

Starting July 1st, get a store coupon for $5 off $20 at Save-a-Lot when you sign-up for their Smart Shopper Club. Click Join Now to register. It may be possible to use this coupon at Publix. Call them first to verify.

I like Save-a-lot. We have only 1 in our city. They always have bananas 3lbs/$1. And last year, they had a P&G promotion, buy $20 get $10 by mail. I ended up using this $10 at Publix! (They had better deals at that time.) And today, the store sent us $6.50 in manufacturer's coupons. Check out their circular on their website. I think these are monthly deals, too.
Thanks Heather for letting me know about Save-A-Lot a few years ago!

Wal-Mart Price Match July 1 - July 7

I've listed the best deals from other stores that you can price-match at Wal-Mart. I price-match to avoid driving all over the place by buying it all at Wal-Mart. You can price match items from any printed ad, grocery, drug or department stores (except Big Lots), as long as there is an actual price listed per item (not BOGO or % off sales). Learn more about price-matching from
this post I wrote. If there any Wal-Mart rollback items that is just a great sale I will add it here too.

Store abbreviations: FW (Food World), G (Greer's), B (Barnes), WD (Winn-Dixie), Wal (Wal-Mart), PUB (Publix). Click on the store name to view other deals not listed here. (Check on Friday for the Barnes deals.)

You can PRINT this form and take it to Wal-Mart with you. And each cashier is supposed to have a copy of the Weekly Ads if you didn't bring yours.

Greer's Weekly Deals July 1- July 7

Greer's is on Hwy 98 at Bauer Road, before Lillian AL. Call them at 850-455-2719 for directions. I've been there once or twice. It's a small, clean, and tucked away grocery store. Their vegetables and meats are typically a great value.

However, I usually price-match their sales at Wal-Mart instead of shopping there. Print their
weekly ad if you plan to do this. Their ads sometimes do not make it in the Weds newspaper. The cashier may give you a hard time if they do not have a copy of the weekly ad to verify.
