Disney Crafts Clearance at Wal-Mart

Isn't Easter Sunday a bit late this year? If you are hunting for gifts to fill Easter baskets, you might check out this Tinker Bell bracelet kit for $3 at Wal-Mart. I found it near the greeting card aisle along with Disney Princess, Cars, and other craft kits for $3 a piece. Our newly-turned 8 yr old daughter still thought this was a cool present. Since I don't have a stockpile of paper products, I was suckered into getting this Birthday Party kit for $5. It was also in the clearance aisle. Good enough for a last minute rush, but I know I could have done better with planning!

Wal-Mart still had $1.96 movies last night at 8:30 pm. While there, I saw some General Mills cereal at an end cap. They are kids cereals and you buy two and get 1 FREE movie ticket. These are good for up to $12 admission. The cereal flavors are Trix, Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Reese's Puffs.

Thanks to Kerry from Totally Target for the heads up on half-off toy deals at Target. Without her blog, I would be totally lost at Target. Plenty of 50% off coupons are now on the Target website. Click on Sporting Goods and Toys to find them faster. This photo is from Totally Target.

One coupon says: 50% off with purchase of any two toys listed below- Littlest Pet Shop; my little Pony; Strawberry Shortcake. Another coupon is 50% off any Disney Princess item listed below- doll, role-play dress or play set.
Also, one little girl at our house would be so pleased this Christmas. Wal-Mart.com has Barbie movies for as little as $3.50 each. I got the Barbie Princess collection- 3 DVDs including Diamond Castle, Island Princess and 12 Dancing Princess for only $9.50. Santa is happy. Thanks to Hip2Save for this deal... there are lots of other DVDs in the website too. Just select price low-to-high and choose site-to-store pick-up to avoid shipping cost.

Butter for $1.84 & More Wal-Mart Deals

Early morning shopping at Wal-Mart was a pleasant experience. Lots of grandparents talking to my children gave them social time for today. Each had a dry-erase board and practiced spelling while I wheeled them all over the store.

Instead of my usual $70 purchase at Wal-Mart, I only spent $61. When I walk out of Publix I spend less than $30 everytime. But not at Wal-Mart. *Sigh* It's a small price to pay for getting a lot of deals in one place. Otherwise, I would have to shop 4 stores! Price-matching, in my opinion, is the easiest way to save money and save time.

A dear friend snagged Earthgrain coupons at the Commissary for me: Save $1 off produce when you buy Earthgrains. I stacked this coupon with the $0.55 off Earthgrains PRINT Q. So, not only only did I get the lettuce FREE and the apples for $0.11, but the bread is even cheaper at $1.95 a loaf. Not bad for all natural bread and it tastes great! It really helps to advertise to friends and family that you coupon. Maybe more of them will give me their extra coupons!

Super Shopping 2.17.10

*Yesterday I chatted with a new friend- fellow AWANA mom. And she had her Iphone with her. I got to look at my blog on her phone. It was way cool! Anyway, thought I wanted to share that... one day I'd like to get one of those phones!

All in all, I spent $24, got $14 ECBs, $10 Target GC and will get $15 MIR. I really hoped to stay out of the stores this week. But Publix was having such a great sale. Then Winn-Dixie too. Then Target had 75% off Valentines already. I couldn't help myself!

At Wal-Mart, I spent around $12 (next two pictures). Land O Lakes is on rollback $3 but I had $2 off from their website. (Thanks Hip2Save!) Valentine's items are only 50% off. I also got some barmops 5pcs for $5.


The best part for this Wal-Mart trip was getting the above. I price-matched Hunts tomato sauce from Winn-Dixie for $0.29 and Premium saltines for $0.99. Publix had $1 off 4 blinkies for any Hunts. So only $0.4 each! For the saltines, I've been saving my $1 off Premium Qs (when you buy any canned soup or chili). So I bought Campbell's tomato and chicken noodle soups for $0.68 each. But all the saltines are FREE! All these items cost me $3.56 - coupons rock!


Target has Valentines items for 75% like clothes, baking stuff, Valentines cards ($0.69 for characters and $0.24 for the small animal cards). The candy is still 50% off except for Wonka and other Valentines candy kits, many of which are still 75%. See Spot items that have the red dot are 50% off, lots of Valentines items here but also for school and household products. Total for this Target trip was only around $5 but I used a $5 gift card, so FREE! I just paid tax. The downside is our Target had a meeting recently that would NOT allow us to coupons for trial sizes, even if the coupon has no size restrictions IF the coupon beeps. We also got FREE popcorn for the kids and small ICEE for $0.80 using a $0.50 off Target Q. (If your child stays buckled in the cart, ask the cashier for a dog sticker. Then present your child wearing the sticker to the cafe to get FREE popcorn.)

Hello all! Check out what I bought Weds at Publix: I paid $7.67 and saved $33. The sales and coupons I used were all from the Super Deals at IHP. For the wheat pasta I went to http://www.muellershealth.com/ and was able to print 6 Qs.

At CVS, I paid $4 but got $14 ECBs. (I wrote $12 + 2 tax earlier, but I forgot to mention I used $12 ECBs for that!) Buying 2 Crest Toothpaste with 2 $75 Qs (from 2-7 PG) gives $1.50 money maker. The Covergirl items was another money maker. Use BOGO Q and the $2.50 off 2 from 2-7PG. It helped make tax FREE! The coupon match-ups for these deals are in my drugstore deals post.

I also finally turned in the rebate form for Olay. The deals are good at Target through Saturday. The links for all the match-ups and scenarios for other stores are here. I bought these Sunday and paid around $10, got $10 in Target Gift Cards and will get $15 for the Rebate!

Be A Santa To A Senior

We all know the Angel Tree at Christmas time. But at Wal-Mart, I saw a tree near the non-food entrance with these paper notes: Be a Santa to a Senior. I picked up one for a lady asking for toiletries. We can surely do that! With all the stockpile from CVS and Walgreens, toiletry gift bags is my gift-giving niche.

I have been thinking about baking something for my elderly neighbors. I'm not sure if they are diabetic or have other medical conditions. Since I don't know them well, I didn't want to just go up to them and ask health questions. But toiletries, I can think up on my own. And it wouldn't cost me anything.

So if your budget is holding you back from holiday giving, think outside the box. As for me, I think it was God's way of honoring a heart's desire to do something more this holiday. I really want to do Toys for Tots or Angel Tree, but I'm not finding the right deals. I didn't think about seniors needing everyday items we take for granted. So this is an exciting way to give!

Wal-Mart Bargain Toys

Our Wal-Mart used to have a Blimpies Sub Shop. After 2 owners, they gave up on the idea. So now it's become the clearance center. Odd too, since this store loves to make a scavenger hunt out of bargain shopping. Now, any super-cheap T-shirt finds it's way here, right by the front door. Clothes are marked down to $3 or $5. Toys and seasonal items, too. So, if your Wal-Mart has remodeled an area into Dollar Wal-Mart, check it out. You'll be sure to find a great bargain.

Guess what little man is getting for Christmas? The Bumblebee is (top left) $10 from $23. The other ones (all transform) were on sale at a different Wal-Mart for $8 each.

Walmart Price-Match Shopping Nov 16

Wal-Mart price-matching is so much easier than Target. Except for the lack of Wal-Mart store coupons, I would only comparison shop there. This week is a great time to stock-up on cheese! If you are new to price-matching at Wal-Mart, read my post here.

Barnes Supermarket has block, shredded and cream cheese, 8oz for $1. I bought 16- sharp, mozzarella, fiesta, cream cheese, swiss and parmesan shredded. The last two were only 6 oz but the cashier let me get them. I thougt they were 8 oz too. Since cheese freezes, it's perfect for holiday cooking.

Walmart Shopping

This is for the SC Johnson Rebate: Cost $3.50 + tax

Bird's Eye Steamfresh for Two is on sale for $4.98 . I had two BOGO coupons and two $1.50 off 1 coupons (expires tomorrow). So instead of paying $20, it was $7 for 4--- only $1.75 each! This is what we'll eat for lunch this week. The Air Wick was FREE after two $6 coupons. I tried to use these coupons at Target, but they were priced at $5.99 and the cashier said his boss would not let them use that $6 Q because they'll take a loss. Sounds like he needed coupon education. (Not from me, I just got the same deal at Wal-Mart, no hassle!)

The Rayovac is FREE using the $1 off coupon from the paper. They have them at Target also. The Duncan Hines is regular price. Target did not have spice cake. A friend gave me a simple pumpkin bread recipe using only the cake mix and 1 can of pumpkin. Intriguing. I'm going to try it and let you know how it turns out!

Walmart Price-Match Shopping October 4

Wal-Mart is still the best at Price Matches. Publix has Pillsbury Grands, Crescent Rolls and Sweet Rolls for $1. Get $1 off 2 here to make these only $0.50 each. I had a few expiring today so I went ahead and bought 6 for $3. BUT if you can, buy these at Publix instead. Buy 2 General Mills brand, Get FREE bag with this coupon. That is what I plan to do tomorrow. It just dawned on me that these reusable bags would make great "green" & FREE gift bags for Christmas. They have pink bags for Breast Cancer Awareness and also Halloween bags for kids.

This Dannon Yogurt is $1 for a 4 pack. It's in the butter section instead, not the other yogurts. I'll let you know if it's any good.

I picked up the wrong ground beef, it's the 73/27 that's $6 for 5lb roll. This ground chuck is $12! I misread the label. I'll return it of course. Someone told me that ground beef (73/27) and ground chuck (80/20) are the same and they just inject fat to make it have the exact percentage. Sounds like urban legend, but my frugal side wants to believe it. So I always buy the 73/27: cook, drain, rinse and drain again. Of course, do not drain it in the sink. Grease & fat should be thrown in the trash.

I paid $43.27 but will get $6 back after I exchange ground chuck for ground beef. I also bought cake decorating items:
$9 wilton 6 color icing
$4 muffin tin
$2.34 cake flour
$1 birthday candle

It's nice to buy specialty items full price when everything else in the shopping cart is price-matched or has a coupon. Plus, in the long run, making cakes will save us money and make birthdays memorable. Cake decorating is a skill I hope will improve in time. Right now our kids are young enough to think every cake I make is beautiful!

Wal-Mart Shopping and Price-Matches

Wal-Mart is still the best place to get produce. I price-match the best sales from area stores all at Wal-Mart. Even though Target also price-matches now, it is harder to do for produce. And since ours is a Mini-Super Target, the selection is very limited and you have to price-match even the vegetable brand name. So it is better to stick to Wal-Mart for now.

If you prefer to shop elsewhere because you don’t like being at Wal-Mart, produce is usually very cheap at the Grocery Outlet off Fairfield Ave in Pensacola. Just remember they add a surcharge of 10% and only meats and produce are reasonably priced. Other items are expensive, so only perimeter shop.

I spent $54.25 on food and 4 Glade products and bought my kids 2 tennis shoes for $9 each. Most of them were price-match items but some were full-price or bought with coupons. If you want, you can still price-match these food items through Tuesday.

UPDATE: I stopped by this afternoon to get all this for $6.33. Select Ziploc are $2 each. Lot's of different sizes! O-Celo 2pk are $0.92 each. Both have $1 coupons from Publix Smart Summertime Savings. (I've seen this booklet in the Orange Beach Publix, call yours to verify.)

We made a quick trip to Wal-Mart for WIC after hanging out the bookstore across town. Total spent was $10.26 for 1 splurge drink (I'm still sick!) and 7 cereal/granola bar boxes. Check your Wal-Mart too. These sales may be on clearance nationwide!

FREE O-Celo Sponge at Wal-Mart

Two pack O-Celo sponges are $0.92 at Wal-Mart. Check out the coupon booklet from Publix called Smart Summertime Savings. There is a $1 coupon for O-Celo and no restrictions! So you'll even get overage, just buy other items too since I've never had them give me back money at Wal-Mart. Even though the coupon says Redeem at Publix at the bottom right corner, this is a Manufacturer's Coupon and can be redeemed anywhere!

Wal-Mart Super Shopping July 20

Sunday, I just had to stop at Wal-Mart to buy staples. Most of what we have been eating are from the stockpile. Usually when I shop, I buy what is on sale and stock-up. So over time we have run out of regular items that often do not go on sale like rice or soy sauce. I only had $6 worth of coupons so that transaction went a little faster than normal.

But before I could rejoice on the ease of this trip, I realized that the cashier did not give me back 3 of my reusable bags. We were already home, so back to Wal-Mart we went. This must have been God-ordained since before leaving the first time I saw a coupon booklet sitting on an unattended register in plain sight. When I came in the store to look for the cashier, she had already left. The bags were in the custody of Customer Service. As I headed over there, I found that coupon booklet and took it there with me. "Hey," I said to the customer service rep, "someone must have pulled these coupons out of the paper." She shrugged her shoulders (as only someone who doesn't clip coupons could!) and said I could have it if I wanted. Great hallelujah! That was my hope all along.

All in all, the total before price-matches and coupons was $78.55. I saved $23.85 (30% savings!)and only spent $54.70. That is half of my $100/week budget for our family of 4. But with my menu plan in place, we should survive just fine this week.

Wal-Mart Super Shopping

On Tuesday at Wal-Mart, I bought more vegetables for the freezer. Between this purchase and Sunday's, we are pretty stocked-up for the month with vegetables! Tuesday is always the last day for the week’s grocery deals. So these sale prices may no longer be available. Check my Wal-Mart Price Match grocery list for current deals.

I spent $30.21 for about 40 lbs of veggies, plus pasta items. This picture shows you what items were purchased. I didn’t want to take all of them out of the bags for the picture. I picked up 2 cucumbers, ginger root, 2 Velveeta Shells Dinner, pasta and tomato sauce and paste, none pictured here.

In the near future, I plan to post a price list that shows the cheapest prices for staples like meat and vegetables for our area.
