Super Shopping at Publix

These deals and others are good through Tuesday and are listed here.Barnes has Split Chicken breast on sale for $0.98/lb. But at Publix, they had the same price for theirs (clearance sale). So each package around $4. The Smithfield bacon was $1 after using $3 coupon from here. And Cascade rinse is FREE with a coupon from the mail.

The Goldfish and Philly cheese is part of their 10 for $10 deal. They have Honey Graham Goldfish! We bought 2 more but those were gobbled up already. The bagels are 2/$2.20 and Daisy Sour cream are 2/$1.29 and part of the BOGO sales.

If you stop by Orange Beach Publix, pick up this coupon booklet, you'll find $3 off Glade and $1 off All Detergent. Small and Mighty is BOGO for $6, so only $2 each with two coupons. The small Glade candles are $3 at the Moblie Hwy Publix (so FREE w/ Q!) and the holder is $2.50. I used $2 off Q from inside the box and FREE refills from glade.com (keep clicking the slide show until you see the tin candle holder then sign-up to print the coupon)

All this for $0.22! I used coupons above & $5 Walgreens Register Rewards!

Publix has this Q booklet (at Orange Beach- only the AL stores have Q booklets, the FL stores have the Green & Yellow Advantage flyers). These are store Qs I combined with Manuf. Qs for even more savings.I used 2 Q: Buy 3 PG brands listed, get FREE Bounty roll
3 Tide Stain Release, $3.99 each
-$1.50 Q (from magazines) & $2 Publix Q = $1.50 for 3
Pampers wipes, $3.39 (-$1 Publix Q & -$1 off Walgreens Q = $1.39)
Dawn, $1.99 (-$0.50 Publix Q & -$0.50 manuf Q = $0.99)
Charmin, $2.99 (Essentials sale)
-$0.55 store Q & $1 Q from the mail = $1.45

And 2 FREE Bounty Rolls!
All the store Qs were from that booklet above and paid $5.38

This next picture shows foods on sale. I used this booklet to get the TGIF frozen foods. I'm not sure if it's still available. But there was $2 off 2 Q there. Because TGIF snacks are BOGO sale (2 for $3.69), it's only $1.69 for 2 or $0.90 each!
Healthy Choice is on sale $2.50. (-$2 here= only $0.50!)
Green Giant $1 (-$0.50 Q here = $0.50!)
Yoplaits Delights $2 (so yummy! use $1 Q here = $1!)
FREE Tropicana from a mail-in coupon.

Thanks I Heart Publix for the great coupon links!

I went to two Publix because the Orange Beach Publix and theygave me such a hard time. They no longer want to accept any drugstore coupons because they are not their competitors. Well, I don't think they notice that there are no grocery stores within a 15 mile radius around them. So who do they consider their competitor? I'll have to make some calls tofind out. So I had to go to the one in Pensacola to finish my deals. We're trying to stock-up so this coming week will be minimal shopping for me.

Publix Shopping And New Coupons

Last night, we stopped by Publix and bought a few things. The total was $9.31. The receipt says we saved $23. So that's a 70% savings! Read my post on deals at Publix here.

6 Ronzoni Pasta, $0.40 each after $1 off 2
*I found peelie coupons $1 off 2 Ronzoni on the Minute Maid Rice
2 Mahatma Brown Rice, $2 each minus two $0.75 off Q
Different beans from $0.99-$1.49 each
2 Old El Paso dinner kits, 2 for $3, used $0.60 off 2
Old El Paso taco seasoning, FREE w/ peel-off coupon
(thanks I Heart Publix!)
Kashi Honey Sunshine, $3.79 but FREE after Vocal Point Q
(not in picture)
Shrimp $1.61 (bait for fishing*)

*We went fishing afterwards. The Orange Beach Publix is down the road from Alabama Point State Park. It was a great time night fishing under the bridge. The water is partly lit up so you can see big fish, bait fish, jellyfish and stingrays. Only very few fish were biting and mostly skipjack. The weather was cool and breezy. Such a relief from the still 90 degree highs that we are getting. It is so important to find time to have fun as a family, even if it is just on the way home from the store!

*Yes, I did take 2 peel-off coupons off something I didn't buy. Here is why: It didn't say the coupon was only good for that box or that you had to buy the rice to get $1 off the pasta. And there were plenty of other coupons. So if you do the same, please read it first. You won't get in trouble for taking them but it's nice to be courteous.
------------------------------------------------

While there I also saw a few new coupon booklets. Go here to learn what coupon each booklet has. And also look out for other booklets readers have spotted at Publix.

Get this booklet and in the back is $2 off 2 TGIF frozen snacks. This week is BOGO TGIF snacks, 2/$3.79. So only $1.79 with the coupon!

This PG brand booklet has a coupon for Buy 3 products, Get FREE Bounty. So this is my gameplan:
Buy 2 Tide Stain Release, $3.99 each for 10ct
Buy 1 Charmin 6-roll, $2.99
Get FREE Bounty, Single Roll
-I found $2 off Tide SR in the same booklet. Stack with $1.50 off from Parenting magazine (there were also some from the newspaper and lots of other magazines)
-There's also $0.55 off Charmin in the same booklet. Stack with $0.25 off from a magazine.
-Pay $3.17 for all 4 items!

In the back cover is $1 off All detergent. All Small and Mighty is BOGO this week. So with this coupon it's only $2 a bottle! Plus, check out the $3 off coupons Glade Fragrance Collection in this booklet. Publix has the 3 wick 10 oz candles on sale for $4.99 or $4.50, making them only $1.50 or $2. They're also on sale at Target, Wal-mart and Walgreens.

Publix Super Shopping 7/28

After a nice, long visit with family friends, we stopped by target at Orange Beach to fill the fridge this week with a few staples and fruit. While there, I wanted to spend $50 before coupons so we could submit for the Kraft Full Plate Rebate. Without a shopping list (a rarity for me) it took me a good hour to fill up the cart! My shopping "list" was my coupons. So I was trying to buy for the coupons that I had. It was not fun. So even if I have to sit in the car for 10 minutes to organize a quick list I will definitely do that next time.

Hubby and the kids found the magazine/books section and entertained themselves. I was free to wander up and down the aisles praying, "Oh God please help me find what I need so I can get out of here." (A real struggle on my own at an expensive store like Publix.) But we still made out ok. I paid $36.32 using $24.39 in store and manufacturer coupons. We would have spent $79 before sales and coupons. And after getting $10 back for the rebate, our savings is 67%.

I paid $11.16 for these items to get the Kraft $10 Rebate. So it will cost me $1.16 after the rebate. Thanks Frugal Fairhope! (See their list of other Rebates here.) And I had no coupons for any of these but a coupon "fairy" left two $1 Parmesan cheese coupons. Thank you!

We rarely buy organic (unless it's Kashi because it's on sale so often). But since we've been saving a bit of our $100/week budget, it felt good to use the savings on these luxuries. They were still on sale or had great coupons though and I only spent $10 for all of these FREE Apple and Eve drinks!($1 off in Greenwise mag & $.50 off in Smart Summertime Savings)
$1.66 Newman's Own Organic Raisins
$2.59 Stonyfield Yogurt ($1 off in Organic booklet)
$2.89 Horizon Organic Milk ($1 off in Greenwise mag)

And we bought a lot of fruit ($8.50) and veggies ($4.70), Ronzoni Smart Pasta (only $1.25 each), Activa ($1.50), 3 Salt and Pepper (3/$1.20) and FREE Cascade. Bacon and sausage for $5. The bacon looks bad so I have to return it tomorrow :(

Publix Shopping Plan 7/6

After I called Publix and found out they accept Rite Aid, CVS and also Walgreens store coupon, guess where I am going this week! My friend is having a baby anytime now and I just saw a box of Pampers is on sale for $19.99. Now I know Wal-Mart is probably cheaper but I can't use competitor coupons there!

So here is my shopping plan:
$19.99 box of Pampers diapers
$11 two California Kitchen Pizza
$8 two DiGorno Pizza
$6 Pork Steak ($1.99/lb)
$3? KC Masterpiece BBQ
$6.99 Kingsford Charcoal
Subtotal: $55

These are the coupons I'll use:
$5 off $50 Publix
$5 off $25 Rite Aid
$2 off Pampers from 7/5 PG
2x $2 off Cali Pizza
2x $1 off DiGorno
$6 off pork steak here

$2 off KC Mast. BBQ
$11 Walgreens RRs
$18 CVS ECBs

Total OOP: $0!

I plan to use the EBT card before any RRs or ECBs. This way, the food purchase would be covered by the EBT card. Whatever is leftover will be paid with RRs and ECBs. I also plan to buy Listerine products since there is a $2 manufacturer's coupon that can be stacked with a $2 Publix coupon. If you want to know what else is a great bargain at Publix, read my post. To see what the Advantage Flyers have on sale and the coupons they have, go to I Heart Publix and click on the Adv Buy Flyers tab at the top.

Publix Accepts Competitor Coupons!

I just called the Publix at Orange Beach. Since the Rite Aid is catty-corner to them, they are accepting the Rite Aid store coupon. I am so glad since my Winn-Dixie coupons never came in the mail.

They are accepting these:
Rite Aid
$5 off $25 coupon Thanks Hip to Save for the link!
CVS Extra Care Bucks and $ off $ coupons
Walgreens Register Rewards coupons
Winn-Dixie $ off $ and other store coupons
Plus Publix Orange Beach has $5 off $50 in the Island Clipper Magazine (by the customer service desk)

So just by going to Publix at Orange Beach and spending $50, I can use $5 off $50 Publix and $5 off $25 Rite Aid and save $10 off the bat! Always present these $ off $ coupons before any other coupons. Otherwise, giving them your other coupons will lower your total and then you can't use the $ off $.

The Pensacola stores are not accepting the Rite Aid coupons. But they do accept the other store coupons. I know this is old hat for many of you from other cities, but Publix just came into our area very recently. And we are just learning the very sweet deals they offer.

Publix Super Shopping

At Publix, we would have spent $58.13. Instead we saved 67% and spent only $19.14. That’s a savings of $38.99. Ritz crackers and Crystal Light were BOGO. Plus I had “Buy Ritz Get Wheat Thins FREE coupons”, as well as Crystal Light coupons. All 6 items were only $2, or $0.33 each. The Kraft BBQ Sauce was also BOGO. With $1 off 1 Kraft coupon from here, it was only $0.17 each.

We did “splurge” and buy 1 lb shrimp at $5 for Paella this week and 2 sausage rolls for $2 each. Since mango was $0.50 each, I picked up 6 to enhance this ethnic dish. Plus it’s really good for you. Be warned, the mangoes were rather small.

*I wish I could say this transaction went off without a hitch, but I actually have to return 1 Crystal Light Skinessentials. I had a FREE coupon but it was only free up to $3.50 and I still would have paid $0.60. I told the cashier I did not want to buy it because I didn’t want to waste my FREE coupon. She voided the coupon but still charged me for the item. I did not include this $4.11. I would have caught this had I checked the receipt before leaving the store. So don’t make the same mistake I did!

Publix Super Shopping

I'm glad to visit Publix with all my coupons in tow because these deals I could just not pass up. My husband asked me a valid question, "Why are we getting more cereal?" To which I replied, it's Kashi! With coupons, 3 of these were only $1.50 each. But he did make me look closely at our pantry. Living in an apartment really makes you evaluate purchase vs. storage space.

I spent $14.86, saved $18.70, or 56%. I would have spent $33.56. I found peelie coupons for Kashi at Wal-Mart for $1 off U or Vive. The Orange Beach Publix had an Organic coupon booklet with $1 off 4 Stonyfield. And the Oreo cakester coupons ($2 total) were from this Sunday's paper and internet. Thanks to I Heart Publix for letting us know about the Kraft printables redeemable at Publix. I'm not sure if these can only be used at Publix or will work elsewhere. But I do plan on stacking them with manufacturer's coupons and using them at Publix.

Publix Shopping

There's a new Publix in town. You would never know an old Albertsons once graced that shopping complex. There are new palm trees and pretty flower beds. They were selling Boar's head hot dogs and soda for $1. And lots of FREE food to sample: Publix ice cream, key lime cheescake, Boar's head meats and cheeses, salads and more. One important thing was missing... Coupon Booklets! What is a Publix without these money savers? Incomplete, that's what!

I will still have to visit the Publix in AL at least once a month to stock-up on coupons. That's ok. At least it's near the beach. I was happy with my purchase at the new store. The organic yogurt was only $0.35 each after the coupon. And the olive oil was only $2 each!

Here is the breakdown of what I bought at the new Publix:
$5.99 two bottles Pompeiian Olive Oil
$2.40 four Stonyfield yogurt (one got eaten before this picture!)
-$2 Pomp. coupons (printable)
-$1 Stonyfield coupon (from a Publix booklet)
---------------------------------------
$6.39 Total
